About Decoupage

Decoupage/derku'paj/noun: The art of, or process of decorating something with
with an arrangement of cut-out paper, cardboard,
linoleum etc., especially the creation of three dimen-
                                            sional scenes with such cut-outs.

To those of us who have spent time doing Decoupage, the dictionary
definition does very little justice to the Art of decoupage. The search
for that particular image, the pains that go into preparing the base
that we are to apply our design to, through to the last finishing touches.
Decoupage is more a passion, all consuming at times, to produce a
finished Art piece as individual in it's finished form as any you will see
in any Gallery.
Often bedridden during his last years, Henri Matisse occupied himself with decoupage, creating works of brilliantly colored paper cutouts arranged casually, but with an unfailing eye for design, on a canvas surface.

Finmark Decoupage hope that they make your search a little easier
by their efforts to source the quality of artists that they have, the
quality of the paper and printing to compliment these artists works,
and this site to view their varied styles.
